Obstacle Racing Magazine just spoke directly with Dr. Richard Golden, the owner of Extreme Nation obstacle race. He let us know that due to the management changes over at Extreme Nation and a recent family tragedy, the race will be no longer be happening in June as initially promised. Dr. Golden’s son Derek, was found dead 10 days ago. You can learn more about the tragedy in this local television news story.
Dr. Golden said he intends to continue with his plans to build a course on property that he owns in Michigan. He said he is working closely with an obstacle designer and plans to have the race happen sometime in the fall.
Obviously, our heart goes out to anyone affected by a tragedy that involves a loss of this magnitude.
