Savage Race has announced a major consolidation of its 2026 event schedule, confirming that the obstacle course racing series has canceled the majority of its planned events and will move forward with three races currently on the calendar.

The announcement, titled “An Update on the 2026 Savage Race Season,” outlines a reduced schedule, athlete transfer options, and refund policies following the cancellation of multiple events across the U.S.

Savage Race 2026 Events Moving Forward

Savage Race will proceed with the following three events in 2026:

  • Savage Race Florida Spring
    March 7, 2026 – Dade City, Florida
  • Savage Race Georgia Fall
    September 19, 2026 – Dallas, Georgia
  • Savage Race Florida Fall
    November 14, 2026 – Dade City, Florida

These races are described by Savage as its flagship events for the 2026 season.

Savage Race Georgia Spring (Dallas, GA) – March 28, 2026
Savage Race North Florida (Gainesville) – April 18, 2026
Savage Race Mid-Atlantic Spring (Maryland) – May 9, 2026

What Savage Race Says About the Future

While the public announcement focuses exclusively on the 2026 season, Savage Race co-owner Sam Abbitt told Hybrid Fitness Media that the company is not shutting down and plans to continue beyond these three events.

Abbitt said the decision to consolidate the 2026 schedule is intended to focus resources on delivering strong events and treating athletes responsibly. He added that additional races may be added in the future, though no further events have been announced at this time.

Savage also confirmed that registered athletes impacted by the cancellations will be offered multiple options, including full refunds or transfers to Spartan Race or Tough Mudder events, depending on availability and eligibility.

Options for Registered Athletes

Athletes registered for canceled 2026 Savage Race events may choose one of the following options:

Option A: Transfer to a 2026 Savage Race Event
Registrations may be transferred to one of the three remaining Savage Race events, subject to availability. Athletes selecting this option will receive a complimentary Bring-a-Friend entry for the same event.

Option B: Transfer to Spartan Race or Tough Mudder
Athletes may transfer their registration to a Spartan Race or Tough Mudder event, subject to availability and partner transfer rules. Savage Race stated it will coordinate these transfers.

Option C: Full Refund
Athletes may request a full refund of their Savage Race registration.

If no selection is made by the stated deadline, registrations will default to a full refund.

Context

Savage Race has long been known for challenging obstacles, strong venues, and a focus on customer service, including a history of offering refunds when events are canceled.

Savage leadership said the 2026 consolidation is intended to protect event quality and ensure long-term sustainability, rather than signal an immediate end to the series.

We reached out to Savage Race leadership for comment and will continue to update this article if additional events are announced or further details are provided.

Future Registration Voucher

Savage also published a separate document about vouchers purchased on site at previous races.

Future Registration Vouchers – Important Information

Some athletes purchased Future Registration Vouchers at Savage Race events during the 2025 season. These vouchers remain valid, and we want to clearly explain how they can be used given the changes to our 2026 schedule.

If You Purchased a Future Registration Voucher in 2025

All unredeemed 2025 Future Registration Vouchers are still valid.
However, the available options depend on where the voucher was originally purchased.

Vouchers Purchased at 2025 Events Outside Florida or Georgia

If you purchased a future registration voucher at a 2025 Savage Race event outside of Florida or Georgia, and you have not redeemed it yet, you may choose one of the following options:

A) Redeem your voucher for one of the following Savage Race events:

  • Florida Spring
  • Georgia Fall
  • Florida Fall

B) Transfer your voucher to any Spartan Race or Tough Mudder event..

C) Request a refund for the voucher.

Vouchers Purchased at 2025 Florida or Georgia Events

If you purchased a future registration voucher at a Florida or Georgia Savage Race event in 2025, your voucher may be redeemed for:

  • Any Florida Savage Race event
  • Any Georgia Savage Race event
  • Any Spartan Race event
  • Any Tough Mudder event

Because Savage Race events are still being held in Florida and Georgia, refunds are not automatically available for vouchers purchased in these markets.

That said, we understand that individual circumstances can vary.
If you are unable to reasonably use your voucher in Florida, Georgia, or with Spartan/Tough Mudder, please contact us and we will review your situation on a case-by-case basis.

How to Redeem or Request Review

Athletes with future registration vouchers will receive an email with instructions on how to:

  • Redeem their voucher,
  • Transfer it to a Spartan or Tough Mudder event, or
  • Submit a request for individual review, if applicable.

Please allow up to 45 days for processing.

For questions or special circumstances, please contact support@savagerace.com.
