Reebok Spartan Race put out a press release on Wednesday. The statement includes a list of elite racers showing up for their Las Vegas race this weekend. On the men’s side they listed Brakken Kraker, Cody Moaat, Hunter McIntyre, Junyong Pak and a few others. One name missing was Hobie Call. Hobie has made it known he will, in fact, be at the 8+ mile Super this weekend. His absence in the Spartan blog tells us that they are clearly moving on without him.
Meanwhile, Hobie and the team over at Extreme Nation are working hard towards putting on a their inaugural race in Michigan, June 14-16. They have promised a short 20+ obstacle course race with a $150,000 prize purse. Patricia Kaiser with EN told us “We hope Hobie brings home a win from Vegas. He is ramping up our course design. It’s an exciting course with full spectator grandstand viewing. It’s going to be epic”. She also said that EN has “interesting innovations that will make OCR history” and that “we still have our sights on ESPN”.
You may remember that last week, we reported that Traci Martin, the former director of operations, had left Extreme Nation just a few days after being seen promoting EN with Hobie at the Georgia Spartan Race. You can catch the details from that post here. EN promises a full press release next week detailing all of their progress.
