ORM received this from Spartan Race HQ this afternoon:
Spartan has encouraged participation from the adaptive athlete community since it was was founded nearly 10 years ago, and nothing has changed. We welcome and encourage racers of all abilities at our events across the globe.
We want to assure you the Para Spartan event scheduled for November 16, 2019, in Laughlin is on as planned. We are finalizing the logistics and extent of the support we can provide to participating athletes – however, the race format, including prize money, remains the same.
To qualify for the Para Spartan event, racers must complete a Spartan Sprint in less than six-hours, anywhere in the world during the 2019 season. The top 40-finishers will qualify for the elite-heat and all others are welcome to enter the open category. Qualified racers will receive an email letting them know they qualified for the championship
Last year’s inaugural Para Spartan race was truly inspirational – showing the world that anything is possible with hard work and determination. It has become a premier event on the Spartan calendar and we look forward to seeing you on the course in November.
Thank you all for your continued support and inspiration.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
Thank you,
Rob Nitezel
VP of Operational Excellence, Spartan
You can also register for the Laughlin Super, Sprint, or Kids Race here.
