Hey everybody, Matt B. here, gonna talk to you about the new Spartan T-shirts and medals as compared to what they put out last year.
Spartan Race Shirts
Let’s start with the Spartan Race shirts. Last year’s shirts, I think this was the first time they ever had the year on the front; they used to just say “Spartan”. But anyway, you have a “2015 Sprint” right there, it says “Finisher” on the back. On the side sleeve it said “Trifecta Qualifier”, can have a peek there, and the back, just a “Finisher”, and it’s a pretty thin shirt.
This type of finisher shirt is a t-shirt that most of you probably wore and then you got most of your races, at least races that have a few bucks.
This year…wait until you feel this thing; super thin, we love these things.
The back says “Finisher” and “Trifecta Qualifier” with a cool kind of map of the universe there, or at least of the world, and looks like some extra slashes on here. The logo got a little bit better. On the side, it just says “Reebok” on this one, and on this sleeve we’ve got the somewhat backwards American flag; people seem to love to have controversy about that – Is it upside down? Is it backwards? What does that mean? – I don’t know, you guys can correct me.
Spartan Race Medals
Let us go to the Spartan Race medals.
Since 2014, you’ve gotten a pie piece along with your regular medal, but starting last year, I believe, these were the first year that they had this year as you can see here.
On the back, it just says “Finisher”. Some of these stadium races, I know would have special different designs on the back and different sleeves, or different necklaces; lanyard part just says “AROO” and “2015 Sprint”, and a pretty cool medal, right? Pretty cool medal; you’d be happy to hang this.
This year, much like the shirt, it got even better because they made it with a little hole through it, right, so it’s a real live Spartan helmet, very cool looking. Again, mine still has some mud on it. Again, you get the pie piece, 2016, still mud on it, and the sleeve as I keep calling it even though it’s not the sleeve, it says “AROO” with a cool slide and the year, 2016.
So there you go; cooler shirts, thinner shirts, cooler medal, added design.
See you at a Spartan Race soon.
